WPU Inducts Dawley Into Hall of Fame

Steven Dawley, class of 2011, was inducted into the 2017 William Penn University Athletic Hall of Fame Award for his skill and leadership. During the 2007– 2010 seasons, the team excelled on the ground tallying some of the best rushing statistics in the history of the program and in the NAIA. To put it simply, current head football coach Todd Hafner describes Dawley as, “The best offensive lineman this staff has ever coached.”

Dawley had an impressive impact on the program, being an intricate part of turning the program around under coach Hafner. During his career, as a Statesmen, the team was 29-16 and tied a school record for most wins in 2010, going 10-1. The team also won their first conference crown since 1976.

“It’s a great honor to be inducted into this group of great athletes, it’s very surreal,” said Dawley as he reflected on the honor.
