VanHemert Charged in Todd Stabbing

After nearly two weeks, an arrest has been made in the fatal stabbing of William Penn University student Marquis Todd.

The arrest follows a two-week investigation by the Oskaloosa Police and Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation.

Oskaloosa Police Chief John R. “Jake” McGee and Department of Criminal Investigation Special Agent Mike Motsinger announced Luke Ryan Van- Hemert, 23, of Oskaloosa had been arrested on March 14 in Pella and charged with one count of murder in the second degree. The Class B felony carries a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison.
