Mahaska County Supervisors held a public hearing at its Oct. 1 meeting in regards to a Tax In- crement Financing plan for the Prairie Wind Urban Renewal Area. The plan has been a hot topic with the North Mahaska School District.

At the sharing North Ma- haska Superintendent/Elemen- tary Principal Angela Livezey spoke with board members. She thanked supervisor Mark Groenendyk for meeting with school officials to discuss the issue.

“Our position is not to be adversarial,” said Livezey. “Thanks to Mark for coming out. We

want a win-win situation for both of us.”

Livezey described the income from the windmills as a large pie that the two entities could share.

“I appreciate you sitting down and working with us.”
