School Board Candidates Vie for Spots in November

When voters go to the polls Nov. 5, they will also vote for school board members. The change was made to cut down on election costs. The change also means current board members will serve about two months longer. Many of the seats are uncontested.

Sherrill Strobel’s seat in North Mahaska’s District 1 has chosen not to seek another term. Michelle Sampson and James Roach have filed to fill the director seat. District 2 Director Dirk Wilkin is running unopposed for another term. Erica Groom will challenge Incumbent Director for District 3 Keith Foster.
