Ratcliff Joins NM Board

For the first time since the Chuck Knight era, Dan Gruber will not be sitting around the board table for North Mahaska School Board meetings. Gruber chose to retire from the board and Margaret Ratcliff ran for his seat and has become the newest board member. She and Arvin DeBoef, both who ran unopposed in the school election last week, were seated by board secretary Cindy Quang.

“Dan, we appreciate your service to North Mahaska all these years,” said superintendent Angela Livezey. “I know we will continue to see you at our events.”

Following Ratcliff’s oath of office, the board worked through a number of organizational items including selection of board president. The board asked Dirk Wilkin to continue as president and DeBoef will serve as Vice President.
