Osky Alley Receives Mural

Oskaloosa’s high school art class painted a mural that was added to The Alley in downtown Oskaloosa. Submitted Photo

OSKALOOSA – Recently The Alley has had many helpers giving a mini-makeover to the back pathway.

The Oskaloosa High School advanced art students first painted a mural for outdoor display. The class, in their last semester, learned how to do murals and wanted to share it with the community so murals were designed and painted for the Bank of Iowa and for The Alley downtown Oskaloosa. The Alley mural now hangs in the back section showing off art as you enter the mall or come from the mall into The Alley.

In addition, the back pathway was given a fresh coat of sharp white by Alley Kittens Grace Vavra and Courtney Fiechtner. Afterward , artist Deb Mattson added a fresh look on selected squares with her artistic designs.
