North Mahaska Wins Twice at Osky Classic

North Mahaska picked up a pair of wins in their outing at the Osky Classic softball tournament. The Warhawks topped Pella Christian, 16-7 and Knoxville, 6-4.

North Mahaska trailed 6-2 after four innings, but in the bottom of the fourth the Warhawks scored five runs to take the lead 7-6. In the bottom of the sixth, after PC tied the game with a run in the sixth. NM pounded out nine runs to secure the victory. Twelve of the team’s runs came on RBI hits. Maddie McKay hit three singles to drive in two runs; Alex Knockel rapped a pair of singles to drive in two runs; Mallory Klinker and Emma Deucore each collected two RBIs on singles. Paige Layman also had two singles.

McKay took the win from the circle allowing seven runs on nine hits and a walk. She struck out four.
