NM Golfers Take Season Openers

North Mahaska opened the golf season under sunlit skies and wind at Prairie Knolls in New Sharon on April Fool’s Day and scored wins by both the boys and girls. The boys topped the meet against Lynnville-Sully and Montezuma with a 191 and the NM girls carded a 213.
North Mahaska took three of the top four medalist spots. Blake Fisher was medalist for the boys with a 40 and Hunter Davis carded a 44. Kassidi Steel paced the girls with a 46. Tessa Van Maanen of Lynnville Sully was runnerup with a 47.
For the first time in several seasons the North Mahaska girls have enough to score as a team. Also scoring for North Mahaska was Macy Moore with a 52, Karlee Chandler 55 and Paige Layman with a 60. Elizabeth LaRue scored a 63 and Jade Hay had a 71.
