NM Boys Hit The Track

 It was a quick week for the North Mahaska boy’s track team with two meets. The boys ran at Sigourney on Tuesday and PCM Thursday. The meets prepared the Warhawks for Tuesday’s South Iowa Cedar League meet, which will be contested in New Sharon.

At Sigourney the Warhawks placed sixth out of 10 teams and finished fifth out of seven at PCM. Pekin boys dominated the field at Sigourney with 148 points doubling up second place Cardinal, which finished with 70. North Mahaska accumulated 52 points.

Jarrett Stodghill had the best individual finish taking second in a competitive 400-meter hurdles event in a time of 58.64 seconds. Nic Fleming ran third in the 800-meters in 2:11.78 and teammate Anthony Goemaat scored a fifth in 2:13.95.

Dylan Klinker, Jace Williams, Luke Groves and Stodghill topped the field in the sprint medley winning in 1:40.43.
