Mahaska Sheriff to Purchase AEDs

Thanks to a grant from Mahaska County Community Foundation Mahaska County Sheriff Deputies will have access to automatic electronic defibrillators in their vehicles as well as available at the county jail.

In a press release from Tuesday, April 2, the department was granted $12,000 to aid in the purchase of the units. According to the release, the sheriff expects the units to be delivered, training completed and running within the next three months.

Research has shown that multiple lives have been saved by the use of AEDs by law enforcement personnel.
