NEW SHARON – This morning, State Representative Dustin Hite (R-New Sharon) announced that he will seek re-election to the Iowa House in District 79 in 2020. The district includes the cities of Oskaloosa and Pella as well as rural portions of Mahaska and Marion counties.

“I am honored to serve the people of Mahaska and Marion counties and appreciate the opportunity to take their voice to Des Moines,” said Hite. “As a public servant, I understand the importance of listening to the folks back home, working to find consensus, and taking action on those priorities. I will continue to serve my constituents in a thoughtful manner and represent their views to the best of my abilities.”

During his first term in the Legislature, Hite was named Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and has taken the lead on several high-profile issues. In addition to the Judiciary Committee, he is also a member of the Local Government, Veterans Affairs, and Ways and Means committees, as well as the Justice System Budget Subcommittee.
