Free throws lift NM past HLV in 4 OT

NEW SHARON – North Mahaska and HLV are not known for their free throw shooting this season. Tuesday night the two teams combined for 40-of-68 free throws in a four-overtime affair. North Mahaska hit 8-of-10 from the charity stripe in the last overtime to outlast the Warriors 79-73.

Through the first 32 minutes North Mahaska was 5-for-17 at the line while HLV went 14-for-20. However, in the four overtimes, North Mahaska shot 15-of-19 and HLV went 6-for-12.

Lead changes were the order of business with 10 during the game. Three-pointers were ringing in with 16 of them tickling the nylon. Three of them came in the final minutes of a quarter or overtime.
