Eddyville Approves Budget Amendment

Eddyville City Councilors approved an amendment to the fiscal year 2017 budget. The amendment was required to account for work on the levee from the FEMA grant and the demolition of the Walnut Street building. The amendment does not raise tax rates, it only takes into account income from grants and loans and the amount of expended on the projects.

The dilapidated property at 304 and 308 S. Second St. was discussed. The city has received a quit-claim deed for the property. Discussion centered on whether to clean the property before selling or selling it to be cleaned up. There is a house and trailer on the property, but cannot be salvaged.
