Council, Property Owners Agree to Sale

Property owners along the unimproved area of East Spruce Street and South Elm Street, and the New Sharon City Council have agree to terms for the purchase of the city-owned property. Other than payment, all that remains is two more readings of the ordinance before the sale is complete.

The price per property varies based on the size, but each property owner will also pay $250 for a share of the survey and $25 to cover legal fees. Total income to the city for the sale of the property will be $5,153.30. There are seven properties involved in the vacation and sale of the land.
