Council Holds, Sets Public Hearings

Members of the New Sharon City Council met June 20 and worked through a generally routine agenda. Two building permits were involved in public hearings and another was scheduled for July 9.

John Slycord, 205 W. Cherry, requested a permit for a shed an driveway, and Linda and Terry Steel had requested a permit for a shed at 309 N. Pine St. No written or verbal comments from the public were made. In regards to Slycord’s request, City clerk Lisa Munn said city staff were concerned about a water line that runs in the area of the drive. It was suggested Slycord be contacted about moving the she and drive a few feet o avoid the line.

Slycord’s request was tabled until there was a chance to talk with him. It was placed on the July 9 agenda for re-consideration.

Steel’s permit was approved. Also on the July 9 will be a permit from Andrew Robinson to build a dog run at 409 W. Maple St.
