SIGOURNEY – Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont started fast and furious last Friday, Sept. 20, scoring on the very first play of the game at Sigourney-Keota. Unfortunately for the Rockets the momentum didn’t last as they fell to the Cobras, 53-14.

Junior quarterback Thane Alexander connected with senior wide receiver Isaiah Smith for a beautifully thrown 62-yard touchdown pass less than a minute into the game giving the Rockets an early 7-0 lead.

Sigourney-Keota responded during their first possession with a 6-yard touchdown run by Sam Sieren. A missed PAT attempt kept the Rockets in the lead, 7-6.
