Busy week for NM Tracksters

North Mahaska got the track season off to a running start with three meets in five days this past week. The teams ran at Lynnville-Sully Tuesday then hosted the Warhawk Co-ed Relays on Thursday. They capped off the week at the Oskaloosa relays Saturday. Results from the Oskaloosa meet had not been posted by deadline.

At the Lynnville-Sully meet the NM girls laced sixth out of seven teams and the boys placed seventh out of eight. Cheyenne Shaw helped her team with two individual wins and anchored the winning distance medley.

Madi McKay, Zoe Deucore, Emma Tyrrel along with Shaw covered the distance medley relay in 4 minutes 52.86 seconds. Shaw captured the 1,500 meters in 5:30.70 and the 3,000 in 11:44.89.

Tyrrel also scored points by taking second in the high jump with a leap of 4-feet 6-inches. Deucore and McKay linked up with Olivia Lobberecht and Lyddia Stodghill for a runnerup finish in the shuttle hurdle relay. They covered the 400-meter course in 1:17.59.
